CALGARY, Alberta (February 19, 2019)—Link Investment Management Inc. (“LINK”), a go-to solutions provider for workplace-sponsored compensation plans, has established a four-person advisory board to help chart its growth, business development and strategy as a disruptive innovator in the workplace financial wellness industry.

Judy Fairburn, Jennifer Tkachuk-Tremblay, Barry Ferguson and Peter Edwards “are simultaneously trailblazers, leaders, and creative thinkers. They bring Link a wealth of ideas and perspectives from varied sectors of the Canadian economy—including natural resources, fintech, digital integration, innovation and financial services,” says Brian McClennon, President and CEO of Link.

Link was launched in summer 2018 as the only workplace financial wellness entity that consolidates all three typical employer compensation programs—savings programs, equity plans and health benefits—into a single platform.

“We’ve made great strides already—our digital platform is already being used by small to midsize businesses—and we believe that the guidance of our new advisory board will give us a tremendous momentum boost,” says Mr. McClennon.

Ms. Tkachuk-Tremblay is Head of Business Development at Delphi, an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven company that works directly with hedge funds and asset managers worldwide. She was also a senior executive at cryptocurrency trading platform, and led an investment bank’s algorithmic trading team. Ms. Tkachuk-Tremblay, named one of Canada’s emerging leaders in 2016 by Women in Capital Markets, lives in Toronto and is a graduate of the University of Alberta’s School of Business.

Ms. Fairburn is a Fellow at the Creative Destruction Lab, which helps entrepreneurs turn science into high-growth companies, and Innovation Co-Chair with Calgary Economic Development. She retired recently as the first Chief Digital Officer and EVP Business Innovation of a Canadian energy company, and has chaired provincial government entity Alberta Innovates. Ms. Fairburn is a member of the federal Resources of the Future Economic Strategy Table, with a focus on innovation and future skills. Ms. Fairburn lives in Calgary and holds a Master of Science degree in chemical engineering and an MBA.

Mr. Ferguson has held senior financial services industry positions for more than 25 years, including senior leadership roles at Qtrade Financial Group, HomEquity Bank, Computershare Trust Company of Canada and CIBC. He is a Fellow of Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI), the highest industry designation in Canadian financial services, and a Fellow with the Institute of Canadian Bankers (ICB). Mr. Ferguson, who lives in Toronto, has also provided formal consulting services in the private and affluent client segment for a number of leading firms.

Mr. Edwards, a former senior HR executive with Canadian Pacific Railway, Labatt Breweries/Interbrew, and CN Rail, has an extensive track record of continuously reinventing organizations—including an organizational redesign transformation at Canadian Pacific that CNBC called “the greatest turnaround in corporate history.” Based in Calgary, with a Master of Industrial Relations degree from Queen’s University, Mr. Edwards speaks widely on the need for new pension alternatives in Canada.

Link offers a fully digital proprietary platform that accentuates simplicity and convenience, with quick and easy online enrollment, in addition to personalized investment portfolios, a comprehensive selection of investment products, and elevated fee transparency.

As an innovator in the workplace financial wellness space, Link removes the burden of administering retirement and savings plans for small to midsize employers—and can instill employees’ confidence in their financial future.
